I finally got to do a “song of the day” after something like 2 weeks of classy choices by people who know what they are talking about so I am going to go an mess my cred up as much as I can, while I can.
It was the only way to go.
Ok so, the story goes: the other day I am moping around emusic, as I do, and I stumble upon something called “Sexton Blake PLAYS THE HITS!” which, with a name like that I have no choice but to download sight unseen and sound unheard and it turns out that it is a (pretty undeniably) gay cover album of 80s hits (anything from “Bette Davis Eyes” to “Logical song” to “Rush Rush” is fair game) by some fey kid named, you guessed it, Sexton Blake, who has a breathy, sort of disco loungey style, that I would not necessarily call singing per se, but it works.
In my mind the whole thing is genius.
I listen to it all day.
This is the cover art:

Picking a song to share was a killer (I mean:”Daniel” is covered, as is “Girl you know its true”…) but I went with this cover of Air Supply’s “Making love out of nothing at all”. AWESOME.
this is the song:
MP3 right here and lyrics here in case you find yourself wanting to (heavily) breathe along, which you will.
I want!
