Let's play the iTunes genius game. I'll play one of my all time favorite songs and see what iTunes thinks goes well with it. First up Belle & Sebastian's Your Cover's Blown from the Books EP/single. Possibly the best song they ever wrote, overlooked by many casual fans due to its semi-obscurity. Anyway, iTunes did a pretty good job of creating a playlist of popular twee indie tracks from the mid 00's including my pick today, the title track on Voxtrot's Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives EP. I first heard of these guys when somebody dragged me to some show they were playing in like a GW dorm room or something, but it wasn't until I picked up their first couple releases that I realized how special they were. Even though Voxtrot hailed from Austin, Texas frontman Ramesh Srivastava spent some formative years in Belle & Sebastian's home of Glasgow and has expressed his fondness for the band on his blog. I wonder if iTunes knew that or just got lucky? Anyway, whatever, it's a fantastic tune, enjoy:

God loves a cheerful giver.
I would do anything to have the original guitarist come back to Voxtrot. Made all the difference (as you can hear on this nugget.)
Hey, this song is pretty good. Any album recommendations?
@Padrock
The 3 EPs are great - Raised by Wolves, the one mentioned in my post, and Your Biggest Fan (the title track is amazing). Sadly their self-titled full length wasn't as good as any of the EPs.
@John Foster
...anything?
Lala has tons of their stuff. I love this site.
Voxtrot begins and ends with me on those early EPs. Totally agree with Cale. If you wonder what this would sound like sped up and delivered in a bitter growl then stay tuned for my column on The Wedding Present shortly.
