Hey kids, Brightest Old Timer talkin’ here, listen up.  You know this newfangled Vampire Weekend group you like so much from the New York City with their rock and roll tunes?  Well… actually I like them too, but there was this little album from 1986 called Graceland by Paul Simon.  My dad would play it for me on family trips in our van and we’d sing along to all the songs.  I continued to listen to it pretty consistently for the next 20+ years, it grew with me, I appreciated it on different levels throughout various phases of my life.  I still get sweetly nostalgic for it even though I’ve heard it a billion times.  It’s a top 10 desert island disc for sure, timeless and universal.  Anyway, I’m pretty certain those Vampire Weekend boys feel the same way.  Listen to White Sky, track 2 off their excellent new album, and then listen to Crazy Love, Vol II, track 9 off Graceland here:
