Remember 2004? I think it was the best year of the decade for indie music. And it's not misplaced nostalgia, I'm way happier now than I was then. Dungen and Devendra, Erlend Oye's DJ Kicks and Piracy Funds Terrorism, Leaf House and Quay Cur. This list goes on. And remember when this album exploded your face?

God loves a cheerful giver.
yessir. good song. and you very well might be right about 2004.
it might be 2006 too but its close
2004 had a lot of annoying political crap
2004 was when i rediscovered indie music after a dark time in savannah when i definitely owned some matchbox 20 records
Matchbox 20 was originally pushed as an "alterna" band and the label sent them out as the opening act for The Lemonheads for their first national jaunt.
Still - no excuse - ha!
Since this is a day of being offended does anyone remember when some feminists were all offended by Matchbox 20's song "Push" and claiming it was about physical violence to women and Rob was all: "Shut your vags you dumbies and listen to the lyrics it's about emotional pushing around and besides it's the guy who gets all emotionally ass beat by the chick now get back in the kitchen and make me a fucking pie."
