The Mixtape kids are taking over for the rest of the week culminating in our big Jesus Camp DJ collaboration on Sat. Next up is Matt:

There's something about the infectious 2007 track "Jesus Doesn't Love Me" by Canadian glam-pop band Dragonette that still sounds so deliciously naughty to my delicate virgin(ish) ears. It takes less than three minutes of the raunchy-yet-melodic guitar licks, the throbbing basslines chock full of hooky fuzz, and the coolly coy cooing of lead singer Maria Sorbara to get me drenched in the kind of satiated sweat usually reserved for the after-afterparties following my Sunday morning tent revivals. Which, perhaps not coincidentally, is the only other venue where I've heard someone say to me: "If you wanna love me, scrub me!"
