My love for Of Montreal is as big as a mountain.
Which is funny because I resisted even listening to them just thinking the hyperliteracy and mania of it all would annoy me. But … it didn’t. It felt like everything I like about music squeezed in one band, all at once. I remember listening to “Party is crashing us” on repeat for weeks, being obsessed with “A sentence of sorts in Kogsvinger” for the better part of the last year, and thinking their cover of MIA’s “Jimmy” was a godsend.
Anyhoo, last week the new single (”Id Engager”) from the upcoming album leaked and I let it marinate a little before putting it up here, just to make sure I really did have feelings for it as opposed to being just thrilled to have something new on my hands.
If you love Of Montreal, you will love it.
