PHOTOS: New Outcasts Exhibit Opening @ Alliance Francaise

“The New Outcasts/Los nuevos olvidados”, a new photo exhibit on view now till February 26th at the Alliance Francaise documents the lives of people in Mexico City. Working in the streets of the metropolis that never sleeps. They sell tamales at the Chapultepec metro station, the mariachis sing in Garibaldi, they shine shoes at the Zona Rosa or clean windshields for a few pesos… the photos themselves are black and white and decidedly intimate, making you look straight into the eyes of the subject.

The opening was this past Wednesday at 2142 Wyoming (the Alliance Francaise location) and Lexie, Becca and I stopped by for wine, brie and general hobnobbery.
