Ticket Giveaway: Hirshhorn After Hours

Ticket Giveaway: Hirshhorn After Hours

June 16, 2008 by Svetlana Send to a Friend Send to a Friend

Hirshhorn after hours is this Friday. This time around Cory (aka The DJ People’s Champion) is DJing so, expect some extra BYT recommendations on top of our USUAL enthusiasm for the event.

what you need to know:
IT SELLS OUT EVERY TIME.

And this is why:

it is bigger, badder, cooler than any bar in DC (duh), and drinking in the presence of art definetly makes people feel better about drinking. And these days, who doesn’t want to feel better about drinking, we ask you? Even if they make pay 10 dollars (in advance, 12 at the door), to stand in line to get a ticket to stand in line to get a drink to stand in line to…you get the picture.

Plus, as Jeff says, there’s tons of hot girls (and a pretty decent amount of hot dudes, say I) there every time.
I love it so much that even when I hate it I love hating it.
I’m not afraid to admit to it.

Now…you can go here and buy yourself some tickets or post a comment about why you deserve them more than anyone else in the whole wide world and one of the two pairs we have to give away could be yours..

Easy.
Peasy.

Do it.

The winners will be notified by Wednesday night.

I’m a starving grad student and have no time or resources for partying/drinking/art.

If given the opportunity however, I will show up in my recent drunken purchase wearing my silk leopard print jumpsuit costing more than my ipod.

and yes, i do need to stop drinking and buying stupid shit, thanks. its a deadly combo.

Aren’t they opening the second part of “the cinema effect” this week? Perfect timing. The first part was one the best art shows I have seen over the past three years in DC.

I need these tickets because Maxi Geil! & Playcolt will be there. I’ve seen an exhibit of Maxi’s before and it blew me away. Art, often times, just doesn’t stick with me long after I’ve viewed it. So, yeah.

Ya’ll sure do things different in the big city. I went over to that Hishorny before- and, ya know, I couldn’t find one maynette, much less a moanette- and I do know the difference, thank ye. Maybe if I had a look with m’beer goggles on. I think I deserve the tickets because I serve the Loran Master of Heaven Nearth and that donates an entitlement to myself, and I really want some placemats with those designs by monette from the gift store.

Nude, sculpted women are that much more alluring under the soft haze of girly drinks and hipster shades.

I -may- not need these tickets because I am in negotiations with the Hirshorn to showcase my MSpaintings, however one shouldn’t count their chickens, etc.

I’m an art lover but more importantly I am shameless. and a drunk.
Last Afterhours I started a Mariah Carey Sing-along in the courtyard with complete strangers.
Who says the hip kids don’t love Mimi?

There once was a girl from DC
Who waited in line for After Hours with a dude who sketch-ee
He followed her around,
And tried to hard to bro down,
She had to leave After Hours early.
