Remember when Buffy ruled the world? Back when we, and everyone else, were in high school, Sarah Michelle Gellar reached the pinnacle of her now pretty lame career, thanks to Joss Whedon´s genius and all those vampires that seemed to beseige Sunnydale. Oh and Aluson Hannigan was awesome. She was.

In a series filled with cultish episodes, “Once More, With Feeling” from its 6th season, is probably one of its best known and critically acclaimed ones and features a a demon who casts a spell over Buffy’s fictional hometown of Sunnydale, California, making all of its residents sing out their secrets and dance uncontrollably until they burst into flames . As the Avalon website says: Oklahoma this ain´t ( and neither is it Hairspray)

All of the songs were written and composed by the show’s creator, Joss Whedon, and sung by the cast, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, and James Marsters.

“Once More, With Feeling” arrives at the Avalon Friday and Saturday nights for a sing-along midnight movie event, à la The Rocky Horror Picture Show, that’s been playing all over the country. Buffy fans can come out of hiding and take pride in their love of the show through a rowdy, interactive musical evening.

Everyone is given a goodie bag of monster finger puppets, plastic fangs, kazoos, and more to be used throughout the hourlong episode.

And all are expected to sing, laugh, and tell Dawn, Buffy’s kid sister, to shut up! Costumes are “soooo encouraged,” says Clinton McClung, the show’s creator. And who doesn´t love dressing up?

Considering the rabid following Buffy had, it comes as no surprise that Saturday night is ALREADY sold out, so your last chance is Friday. Either that or waiting till November when the sing along is supposed to return to Avalon.
