When I was 17 years old and a senior in (math & science) high school (not in America), "Can't Hardly Wait" pretty much summed up what I imagined being a senior in high school in America was like and I REALLY wanted in on that "scene". My life was fine and well adjusted and everyone I went to school with was more or less happy and bound for college and some form of success (in Serbia they weed out the riff raff pretty early on) but I wanted big, sloppy parties, beefy jerks to jerk me around, sensitive boys to be sensitive about me, keg stands, Pearl Jam tickets, bad decisions and those built-in bra tank tops Jennifer Love Hewitt wore around which I knew you could buy at the Gap, if ONLY THERE WAS A GAP where you lived. Oh man, how I envied people with The Gap in their proximity.
I probably even liked Smash Mouth because they had that song in the movie.

What that proves is that while you could chalk some stuff to being young and impressionable once, you can still use the same excuse a decade later. Never forget.
