Best Weekend Bets

Best Weekend Bets

July 10, 2008 by Svetlana Send to a Friend Send to a Friend

Lets do some basic math (its been a while, admit it):
At last count, the BYT side calendar indicates the following:

THURSDAY=13 events

FRIDAY=23 events

SATURDAY=11 events

SUNDAY=5 events

Which brings this weekend’s total of tentative events to a neat 52 events which does not include the 600+ things going on at Cap Fringe Fest, or your Baltimore options or for that matter the fact that I am celebrating my pre-birthday during this 4 day time span and that is all I can think about right now.

I just cannot deal.
So, how about we do this?

You tell ME what you are planning to do.

(I know I am asking for trouble with this, btw)
It can be one of the 683 events offered here (including the hands down most commented event post in the history of BYT, which is for SHORTS IIIII)
or it can simply be staying home,
becoming a better person,
learning to love your junk,
finally listening through the whole Thao album,
catching up on Netflix and DVR
or
buying me presents.

Either way, the stage, my friends and frenemies, is all yours:

TAKE IT AWAY.

And in the spirit of juvenile joy, I bring you today’s #1 image search result when you google “Fun”.
The end IS NIGH

Self serving of course but come out and see what should be an amazing show at dc9 tonight with Sam Simkoff (Le Loup) playing stripped down songs both old and new in ways never heard before, Marty Royle brandishing his poppunk songsmithing in spades and Sad Crocodile being, well, sad. Rotating format so be there by 9 cats and kittens!

Denman Says:

Well…..Besides going to a few punk house shows (where I know you are all excited to follow….) I will be at Kicks! on Sat. doing a guest set, and holding an early celebration for my 30th birthday. So, while I totally condone supporting Stereo Faith, and Will this weekend, I would like to bring out the grim hordes who miss Evil Disco back for just a small taste of that now too long gone insanity. (oh, PS IT’S FREE!!) I even made a terrible flier:

There’s a whole lotta Art happening this weekend, but I don’t know which event to pick… So who did their homework? Can I have a look? I know that Art is subjective, but… where am I going to have the best time?
