According to the Washington City Paper this week we are "DC's Best Scenemaker".
Whatever that means.
(If anything, I would like to see who the "Worst Scenemaker" is.)
But anyway, if it comes to making a scene, and not sleeping ever, well, then apparently,...we are the people to come to.
And as such, I am gonna lead you through the upcoming weekend of scenemaking 101.
In several easy steps.
+ congratulations to many of our other friends who made the list too. we always knew you were, in fact, the best.
(there are, as always plenty of other options on the calendar, and if I missed things, you can, as always, LET.ME.KNOW.IN.COMMENTS, and as always check out the Baltimore Re-Up and the Free Movie Guide for even more hits and misses.)

Thursday
Spring is in the air and...you need new clothes.
Thankfully, it is third Thursdays on U street so you can exercise your credit card muscle while still saving 30% of the money you probably should not be spending in the first place. Then, high on free cupcakes and with a new party dress in hand go out. And about.
Kate Nash is sold out, Autechre is awesome but its 20 bucks (?) and plus, it is a school night so you may wanna just go to a bar, throw back a drink or twenty and catch up with your closest friends.
Our top picks for doing this include: The ALWAYS ALWAYS wonderful Brazilian Night at St. EX and the ALWAYS ALWAYS super cool Bohemian grove with Ian (Svenonius) at Bourbon.
Crawl back home.
Work on your blog.
Set your alarm clock for an hour earlier so you can freely hit the snooze button and still feel like you're actually sleeping in.
Friday
The weekend is officially here.
Maybe fake an allergy malady and sneak out of work early to smell the roses and pre-game.
The pope will be gone by now too, so no more hellish traffic and other annoyances that tend to come with organized religion.
Decide to spend the night in your neigborhood wherever it is....Taking the Piss is at Marx Cafe (always jangley fun), Ready Already is at The Red and The Black (always indie dance fun), DJ DK is at the Cat and Will is at Napoleon with half off champagne cocktails and fun.
If you're in the mood for a show, RNR hotel is offering the most face melting local band experience of all.
Bring ear plugs.
End the night at Jimmy Valentine's with a girly DJ set from Tobi and Dawn.
and those goddamn cherry bombs.
Plus, if you ask nicely, Mark will make you a pizza at 3 am.
Saturday
Daytime fun abounds: whether its in the form of Vintage and Champagne brunching at Marvin, free Disney movies at the National Gallery or some awesome Record Store Day Celebrations, you should not stay home.
At night, go literary or local or literary and local
Sunday
Go for a bike ride.
Celebrate Earth Day on the National Mall
See "Smart People" or "My Blueberry Nights".
Watch some BRAVO or Rock of Love Marathons.
Eat and drink brunch.
Don't get dressed till 2.
and at night, and this will be good, I promise, check out Greenland and Prabir and the Substitutes at the Cat.
God loves a cheerful giver.
That dude in the thumbnail is a turbo-partier.
Jesse Bishop is an inspiration and therefore deserves a "best weekend bets" thumbnail all to himself.
Some may argue this, but I stand behind my choice.
you should have used the fourth image that comes up when googling "fun." Assuming that your SafeSearch is off.
just saw it.
classy all the way (and nothing to do with " Fruits, Fun and Sunshine!" which is the fourth image when you SafeSearch is on).
maybe people should just post all their favorite "fun' images in comments?
its not like anyone has anything better to do?
right?
right.
Cloud Cult @ the Hotel on 4/19
tickets only $10
"Feel-good-indie-environmentally-conscious folk-esque music." yes, i love the "-" Live art made during the show to be auctioned off silently after the show!
I think there's something fun at Wonderland on Saturday too, I usually go every third Saturday and they play lots of old school dance tracks and some things I don't know but it's pretty good overall.
its called Breaking Glass
Re: Plus, if you ask nicely, Mark will make you a pizza at 3 am.
After DJing The Dance Party show for like 8 hours I went over to Jimmy V's and Mark made me a pizza, and while I knew it was some grocery store bullshit, it tasted like pizza from heaven.
oh, and worst scenemaker:
i have yet to be around a sober jesse.
Self serving plug:
Saturday at 8 at The Lab in Alexandria is a benefit for IJM with Sean McArdle, Meredith Bragg and Sad Crocodile.
Songwriter goodness will abound.
Cale: I love you (and that newest distinction for the Pope).
See you for some mushroom pie at the Zoo this weekend?
