I am dead.
You are dead.
We are all dead.
I have sworn myself to a cold sober January and I already see myself failing.
But if you are determined to somehow be alive for one more weekend these are the things you should not miss
(in abbreviated, brain fried form):

Thursday
: several perfectly reasonable options including this and this but nothing that seems unmissable enough to keep me away from staying curled up in a fetal position.
Friday
: 2 good shows: one at the Cat and one at RNR. With dance nights at each place to match. We'll be at Jimmy Valentine's Lonely Hearts club eating cupcakes if you're looking for afterhours.
Saturday
: we're throwing a party! at 930 club! it is the last show that's going to be 10 dollars in the history of 930 club but you can win tickets by clicking here: so click
Sunday
: free movies for everyone. And not free but amazing movies too. Plus, you know, the aforementioned death.
suggestions welcome. as long as they don't blow.
God loves a cheerful giver.
a little football game is happening on saturday and im guessing most area bars will be going off.
Happy Birthday Morgan!!!

ok, why would someone name their band 'len bias'? that is so fucking stupid that there aren't enough expletives or superlatives to describe how retarded it is. what idiots. what benighted fucking dullards. i can't wait to run into one of those jackasses at ledroit park market since they claim they live in my hood. if you know these morons, please encourage them to change their name.
Top Ranking @ Napoleon on Thursday is a safe bet every week!
capricorns rule
eduardo... I suppose you'd prefer they call themselves Mookie Blaylock?
Hey Eduardo, think you're being a bit harsh maybe? Does it really upset you THAT much?
Because that's pretty sad, if so, sir.
I would prefer Mookie Wilson
SATURDAY
DES ARK // BELLAFEA // ZEGOTA // TURBO SLUT
ST STEPHENS CHURCH // 8PM
1525 NEWTON STREET NW
COLUMBIZZLE HEIGHTS
yeah, my initial reaction may have been somewhat harsh, i admit, and it really doesn't matter in the big scheme, so whatever.
i would like to know what their reason for picking the name is, though. i shouldn't have gone off without knowing the facts, i suppose. my older brother knew len and i got bent because i ASSUMED that they used the name of a young, local athlete who tragically died as their band name purely for the novelty.
i'm sure i'm not the only person who has gone a little overboard with their initial reactions/opinions before, michael m. check to see what your house is made of before you start chucking rocks.
obviously my verbage gives way to some len bias puns, but please refrain.
Len Bias didn't tragically die. He ODd on cocaine. That's a choice, not a tragedy.
his choice was to die? i never said he was a model citizen, but now you are the one being harsh. yes, he did o.d. on coke. no, he didn't CHOOSE to o.d. and die. and yes, it was a tragedy. just ask his friends and family.
We have two different definitions of tragedy then. I prefer the original Aristotelian definition over the watered-down media catch-all definition for anything "bad" that happens.
He chose to do coke knowing he could die. Better?
ok, i don't wanna fight with you, michael, but yes it was tragic. not a watered-down tragic. just tragic. not a tragedy by definition since he wasn't a character in a book or play, but tragic, indeed (by definition). i thought the band name was in poor taste, but i did take it too far (as i've admitted).
nancy reagan would be proud of you for taking the hard line on drugs, though. good for you, son.
i can tell you feel strongly about this, so go ahead and get the last word (i won't even pull an o'reilly on you by saying you get the last word and then commenting back myself). have a good day...
I'm not replying to get the "last word" I am simply replying to make a clarification:
I am not taking a "hard line" on drugs. Do all the drugs you want. Hell, I have. Viva drugs.
Just don't expect me to give a shit if you die on them.
Oh and I'll agree with you - the band name is stupid.
And it isn't original: http://www.unsigned.com/thelenbiasproject
