Brightest Young Things

I heard some kind of a (horrifying) rumor this week about someone making "HEATHERS" into a TV show. IS NOTHING SACRED ANYMORE? Trying to do that is like trying to make fetch happen or something. To remind those mindless people (who, inevitably, read BYT religiously, right?) of what they're messing with, we're dedicating this edition of Best Weekend Bets to the color blocked tights genius that this movie was.

But, before we motor, check out:
-the free movie guide
-and Marcus' dance music guide

for things to do.

ONWARDS:

THURSDAY
As much as I adore YO LA TENGO, who are playing 930 club tonight, I should warn you that they sound problematically jam band-like live.

Aside from that-KIA bonanza kicks off tonight with Dave Nada and Ponytail (check out full preview here)
and Brazilian Rhythms are (Still) the safest bet in town.

FRIDAY
Lots of stuff going on:
-MIIKE SNOW is at RNR Hotel (big interview coming tomorrow)
-StoryStereo event is happening @ The Writer's center
-MOBY sold out 930 club
-Kid Congo Powers is at Comet
-and Wale and Tennis System and Chris Burns are all doing their thing for KIA.

SATURDAY
We hope its a beautiful day because H STREET FESTIVAL IS GOING ON (BYT is hosting their very own all day/celebrity twister dance party upstairs at RNR hotel, fyi) which will culminate in the bound to be dancerific DATAROCK show.

Other than that-2 of the best dance parties in DC collide 2 blocks away from each other: Fatback @ Bohemian Caverns' LIV and Velodrome @ Velvet Lounge.
You'll be spoiled for choice, you lucky DC party goer, you.

For those into more serene activities, we recommend the Adam Tensta and the rooftop terrace @ House of Sweden

SUNDAY
Have you test-driven that KIA yet? Since all anyone is talking about is that MGMT show

LET ME KNOW WHAT I MISSED, that's what comments are for.

God loves a cheerful giver.

Marc,

True Romance and Murder in the First are both pretty good. I also have a soft spot for Kuffs.

I've been meaning to say "There's something rotten in Denmark" ever since I saw True Romance.
