Granted the weather has been mostly appropriate just for staying in and watching “Twin Peaks” with your personal log on your personal couch but I woke up this morning and while I am sure the humidity level is THROUGH the roof, at least it looks nice and sunny and my bike will no longer be held hostage so i can scoot around and get to be everywhere.
Which works out just nice because there is a shitton of stuff to do tonight.
So, take my hand, leave your cat named Cat behind and lets go:

First up-

• NOMA summer screen kicks off today with Bob Dylan and Martin Scorcese and bbq and Fatback djs and blankets and…if you miss this Wednesday, there is 9 more to go but try not to.

Then

• Obviously, Santigold is sold out. Whatevs. At this point, what ISN’T SOLD OUT @ 930 club these days? Those who have tickets will go, and those who don’t can try and hustle up to the Amanda Blank afterparty @ DC9, which, somehow, promises to be at least just as fun?

As a consolation, this is one of the greater show days in DC lately with a little something for everyone, so alternatives include:

• Amadou and Mariam!!!!!!!

• THE AMAZING DARK MEAT @ The red & The Black. Out of all the things this week, this has the highest chance offlying (criminally) under most people’s radars and its the damnest shame.

• The Coits are @ Velvet Lounge (read the hilarious coits interview we did forever a go here)

After the shows, you may still feel ready to rumble (namely because the rain made you sleep at 8pm the last two nights. Oh, was that just me?). THANKFULLY PARTIES-A-GO-GO.

• Most crucially, the Air Sex Championships are @ RNR hotel tonight. Which is pretty much exactly what is sounds like and in a city (in which everyone knows everyone) like DC could either amount to AMAZINGNESS of complete LAMENESS and RESTRAINT. Lets hope for the former. Decider has a pretty sweet “How to be a great Air Sex Lover” Guide I recommend for perusal beforehand.

Also:

• Ipod Jukebox TURNS 5!!!!

• Earth Wind and Fire are randomly in town

and

• NOTORIETY at Chi Cha tonight promises to be an island of surf fun, with North Shore playing, surf rock on the speakers and drink specials that you are bound not to remember tomorrow. Perfect prep for Summer camp this Saturday.
