I can stay out as late as I want. I can do anything. I am a free woman.
The whole of BYT core staff is evacuating from DC this weekend because this is the only Saturday all Summer we have off from Summer Camp but for the rest of you there is a pretty solid weekend ahead.
Just stay away from creepy children that may or may not be midget Eastern European prostitutes, k?
Or horrible ancient babysitters who are into ruining your summer?
Before you do anything though check out the:
-free movies guide
-the electronic/dance music event guide
and
-the couch sessions event guide
Now that you absorbed all that you're ready to go into new victories.
And smoke some cigarettes in style.
THURSDAY
Fort Reno ends tonight with a pretty awesome Title Tracks/Casper Bangs combo and the weather is looking good (unlike during last Thursday's Benjy storm fiasco) so just go.
Other than that M.Ward is in town and if you know what is good for you-you will go.
PLUS-Spring Awakening cast does a special Cabaret performance @ TOWN (all ticket proceeds to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation) and for those in search of dancing-we highly recommend Bee's Knees at Velvet Lounge, as always.
FRIDAY
GO NUTS.
I will be in Baltimore seeing Dan Deacon and NO AGE and Deerhunter and going to TAX LO but if you're in town Sprockets records is showcasing some awesome local talent (HUME, BLDGS...) @ Red Lounge so go support them.
Also-M.Ward is STILL IN TOWN (can we somehow keep him here forever and ever?) and they're playing E.T. just over the bridge (which may as well be a rainbow) in Rosslyn.
Afterhours courtesy of Chris BurnsDC.COM. Duh.
SATURDAY
No summer camp.
Which, I know, is devastating.
But-chin chin up and head bravely into DC.
Corcoran is free on Saturdays all summer so brave the tourists and check out The Eggleston Exhibit.
Pinkline is walking you gently through Bloomingdale today
and the Old Bridge Festival is going in.
At night:
-RUN FOR COVER IS BACK AND ALWAYS SO MUCH FUN (bonus: Wag is downstairs @ The Cat)
-The Veils are in town with their new record (bonus: Autorock does his thing upstairs for free @ RNR)
- Steve Aoki is at Ibiza
-and The Sinister Intelligence Agency is back after a hiatus burning Jimmy Valentine's down into wee hours.
I hope you survive through it all (or at least some of it).
SUNDAY
I don't know? Rest? Swim nude for one last time this season? Hang out at Beacon with Beautiful Swimmers? Do stuff that is not online? Save the world?
leave comments with all the things i missed.
k?
God loves a cheerful giver.
