Thursday, we host our second annual big "YOUNG @ HEART" FOTOWEEK show @ FOTOWEEK Central (1800 L Street NW). Last year was a blast! We would love it if you came (online registration here, tickets will be available at the door too), and this is why:

We know we do a lot of events, but this one is always very personal. The quality of BYT photography over the years has been nothing short of amazing and sometimes, due to the sheer volume of photos we publish (daily!), the amazing talent and dedication of our photo team is taken for granted. The BYT flickr hosts 113,738 photos at last count (it will probably be more by the time you read this), and just in the last month we've covered 65 music shows, a dozen art exhibits, numerous food and event stories, and many editorial shoots. And all that - just for the love of photography, DC, and you (I know this is getting cheesy but bear with us).

This year, we asked 20 of our favorite BYT shooters (namely Dakota Fine, Jeff Martin, Shauna Alexander, Kimberly Cadena, Julian Vu, Bradley Portnoy, Katherine Gaines, Stephanie Breijo, Nick Balleza, Franz Mahr, Steve Jeter, Rachel Eisley, Julia Benton, Emily Cohen, Lauren Bulbin, Christopher Chen, Frank Turner, Josh Sisk, Michelle Yass, Shannon Yazurlo, Mukul Ranjan) to submit 50 of their favorite photos from the last year, and curatorially Dakota has done a great job of editing this down to probably one of the most dazzling, diverse, heartbreakingly-alive photo sets you'll see around.
