D.C. food writer Amanda McClements graciously allowed us to sneak a peak inside her fridge as part of the miracle that is Food Month on BYT. Her works have been published everywhere from The Washington Post and Washingtonian to Forbes Traveler and the list continues. However, she is perhaps most commonly recognized for her enormously popular food blog, Metrocurean. Originally a native of North Carolina, Amanda's southern hospitality and charm was anything but distant as she welcomed us with a big smile and allowed us to snoop through her fridge.

Saving the best for last, Amanda gave us a brief demonstration of the SodaStream Penguin Water Carbonator from Williams and Sonoma. After a few quick taps on the Penguin's "beak" you have turned ordinary tap water into sparkling water. When finished, the sound it makes is reminiscent of a spaceship door opening, thus making it one of the coolest kitchen appliances out there to date.
