Brightest Young Things

If you were ever a teenager in DC  you've probably been to either the aqueduct or the rooftops (but that's for another post) in Georgetown to enjoy your 40's and blunts in peace.  Since a good 90% of those likely to read this weren't, let me clue you in to the best combination romantic picnic/graffiti spot around.

Your journey will start in the underbelly of the Whitehurst Freeway, also known as Water Street or the only place to park in Georgetown. Go west on Water Street, young one, until you see the lovely stairs on the right in the picture below.

Ascend the stairs and enter the graffiti zone.

The park police painted over everything earlier this year, so there is a ton of good space left both on the 'duct and along the canal behind it. Speaking of park police, the aqueduct is technically closed after dark and is well known to be a great place to be up to no good so most nights a friendly officer will come along around 10 pm to make sure there is no obvious public drinking and hustle you on your merry way. They drive in on Water Street so it's easy to keep an eye out for them.

Bonus Spot: The stairs featured in The Exorcist, under the arch in the picture below

@LOL all the pieces? There are a few quality ones along the canal but this spot is on the aqueduct because there is a lack of complex pieces up. I'm letting people know where to go lay down something big and nice.

Careful with the police thing.. I was there the other evening and they came, told everyone to leave, and arrested some guy rolling up. It was decidedly not night and it was before 10.

Also thanks for announcing, police: here's a great spot to go arrest kids who are going to be doing illegal shit because we said so.
