As SWEETLIFE festival rapidly approaches (less than 4 weeks away!) and we're gearing up for all the good stuff to come with it (like our sweet free rides to the Festival courtesy of Popchips) we figured we'd do some awesome videos by the awesome bands playing it this whole week. (get your tickets here)
Remember when you were in high school watching the Mtv music video awards and it was never really clear whether it was the song or the video that was winning. Usually the video of the year was pretty legit, but there were tons of runner ups and shit that were whatever top 40 hit was going on at the time and it would just be the Backstreet Boys standing in front of a plane or something while Spike Jonze got shafted. At least that's how I remember it. Well, I'm pulling the same move on BYT today hipster style. Here we have one of the best songs of last year that I'm awarding video of the day status even though the actual video is so crushingly mediocre. A remix that adds Robert Smith vocals to a Crystal Castles' cover of the forgotten Platinum Blonde song Not In Love. Someone else said it best, that it makes you wish this is what The Cure sounded like now.
