Brightest Young Things

It's like Kanye West says, "She don't believe in shooting stars but she believe in shoes & cars."  What can I say?  At least I've got my priorities figured out.  Here are a slew of my favorite shoes that I've seen on the internet this week.  Go on and drool (or share your favorites) in the comments.

  • THE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

Remember Sam Edelman's harness boot? Well it's the same look for half the price (and double the sparkle). Who wouldn't chomp at the bit to get their hands on a pair of these?  Sure, you have to use google translator to navigate the website, but these Modekungen Boots (799 SEK = $115.00) are absolutely worth it.

  • THE BRAND NAME BEAUTY

Ever since Kate Moss started donning them back in 2009, I have never met a pair of over-the-knee boots, especially in grey leather, that I haven't loved.  Costume National ($325) knocks it out of the part with these sturdy but stylish over-the-knee tall boots.  If only I could justify spending literally half my rent on a pair of boots.....

  • THE BARGAIN BUY

There are plenty of sites on the internet where you can get stylish heels for under $40.  The Morgandy boot from JustFabulous ($39.95 + free shipping) in either red or black are a perfect on-trend example of how bargain doesn't have to mean boring.  Just be careful when buying from these kinds of sites (Kim Kardashian's version especially) because you get what you pay for -- most pairs will only last a few wears on these terrible capitol sidewalks and pavements.

  • THE LITA BOOT OF THE WEEK (Because let's be honest, they're perfect)

I'm starting to think that Jeffrey Campbell's design team is living inside my brain.  These Black Suede Silver Star ($159.95) Lita's add just a little bit of flash and shine to an old staple, which is never a bad thing.  They're definitely going to be my next shoe purchase.  Definitely.

  • THE DO-IT-YOURSELF DARLING

These beauties from Barney's ($595) don't have to empty your wallet.  In fact, This Is Glamorous, posted detailed instructions on how to get this look for less.  All you need is a pair of booties you don't mind sacrificing, some glitter and some craft glue.  Simple. Easy.  Amazing.

  • THE ARTISTIC ENDEAVOR

My Mother always told me a staple in my wardrobe should be a pair of YSL Pumps in Black... With a 70's-inspired goat hair fringed trim and a 6 inch heel, I don't think she quite meant these bad boys!  Yves Saint Laurent ($654.50) Talk about having some sartorial authority.

  • THE OBLIGATORY PAIR OF FLATS:

Listen, we all know I'm a HEELS girl... but then there's always that one pair of flats that catches my eye (and makes my feet sing hallelujah for the break).  The Anywhere-You-Roam boots from Modcloth ($42.99) are perfect for looking stylish all day without needing an epsom salt bath before bed.  They remind me of Winklepicklers, which the likes of some of my favorite bands (here, here, and here) wear all the time without being overtly gothic and masculine!

God loves a cheerful giver.

Those Modekungen boots...I got mine last year (and for cheaper). A little late to the party!

@seilens: Oh it's not late to the party when you own the original influence!

@Beluvs: eBay! Bought them from a seller in Hong Kong, since they're made in China anyways.
