You got it backwards. the dead confederates were boring and the whigs killed it.

the dead confederates are losers but Dead Confederate was amazing. great pics! Whigs may or may not have been decent, I ran over to Lucinda briefly after DC and several whiskey shots later returned to the Whigs. I owed them more as an observer but it was time to stumble home.
Dave has it spot on. Dead Confederate found themselves a convert. The other bands bored the hell out of me, save for the opener's first track.
