The 2011 FOTOWEEK juggernaut kicked off this Friday with not one but two big, splashy parties: one at the new FOTOWEEK central (at 1800 L Street) followed by an after party with FATBACK at The Corcoran Gallery. The winners of this year's competition had their work on display, the wine and vodka were flowing, the onomonomedia booth was about to burn down under excess use, and we got a first sampling of the great work we'll be able to see throughout this week (check out our convenient FOTOWEEK survival guide for more locations and our program picks).

Everyone seemed happy to be there, dancing and looking at beautiful things and Dakota turned the camera on everyone from FOTOWEEK mastermind Theo Adamstein to Corcoran PR ladies to some of our favorite DC photographers. Congratulations!
