As always, Family Hemerlein was a joy: standing room only crowd at the Gibson Guitar Center was taken to a place that DC seems to need and want more of: a place where you get to hang out (intimately) with funny, insanely talented and self-deprecating people.
This month also marked our first foray into being the official date night for Walker Whitman clinic's soldiers and they had quite a night planned out for them: Matthew Hemerlein and Seaton Smith did hosting duties as always (with the one and only Lex Paulson on the ivories), the musical guests included DC's R'N'B up-and-comer Alison Carney, a special acoustic peformance by TypeFighter (with Mom), and an un-announced appearance by Birdlips who joined Matt for the closing cover of Miike Snow's "Animal" ( download this tune for free here)
Comedy was provided by the one and only Miss Erin Jackson and Saurabh Tak stopped by for a brief storytelling interlude.
No matter what we write, we will never be able to explain it. You just have to plan and come next time.
