Karaoke camp walks that thin line between being the most amazing thing you're experiencing and the worst thing you've laid your ears on and that is why we love it. In fact, we love it so much that we kicked off our string of 6 (count em SIX) consecutive Saturday Summer Camps at the end of this summer with Karaoke Camp The Sequel (photos from last year are here)

The day kicked of with some ipod DJing by the campers coordinated courtesy of Fritz and Kathryn of Ipod Jukebox, and then at 3pm Andrew Herndon sang some Franz Ferdinand to warm everyone up and the rest is, as they say, misty (jeremiah weed and vitamin)water colored memories.

Highlights included:

First and foremost that 12 year old kid that sang "Sweet Child O'Mine" perfectly with hot babe back up dancers and Cale stepping in as Slash (we knew those Milli Vanilli whigs would eventually come in handy)
The group scream-along to "Wannabe"
The perfectly off-tempo "Sabotage"
"Modern love", under the sun
that girl that did both "Rock Steady" and "Son of a Preacher Man" which could have been horrible, self-destructive choices but was actually amazing
Tito back on the mike and with bunny ears
The MGMT Tickets contest which had Matthew Hemerlein running around the pool and singing "Time to Pretend" from the lifeguard stand (yes, he won. yes, we know)
Other stuff? (comment!)

And after a pretty special butchering of "little mermaid" Josh Vogelsong (of HotBoxxx) closed the day out with some old fashioned rock. Oh, and there are still some free Expendables movie tickets left, get them at http://www.Gofobo.com with code: BYTRONW
