The best part of big art fairs is all the satellite fairs that happen. Anyone that has ever been to Miami Art Basel can atest to that. So, while (e)merge is still a baby itself, the fact that it resulted in several alternative fairs this weekend, means we're in for a colorful fine art future in DC.
Below, you'll find photos from FAIRFAIRFAIR @ 1337 Vernissage (feat. performance by Kool Raunch Collective, live old-time music by Laughing Man, instillation art by Kashuo Bennett, original art by Rosina Teri Memolo) which was in it's own right a response to the original alterna-fair BUT IS IT ART? at wonderbox (which focused on celebrating the DIY spirit of DC art) but also check out photos from SUMBERGE, ART ALL NIGHT, NUIT DE LA MODE and (e)merge itself, while you're at it, all of whom resulted in DC taking it to the streets this past weekend.
