Next time your on the corner of 13th and Florida NE, make a point to swing by the two exhibits @ Conner Contemporary and INDUSTRY Gallery, each showcasing emerging artists in the DC/MD/VA area.
Downstairs, at the CONNER CONTEMPORARY space, is ACADEMY, the 11th annual invitational survey of outstanding work by MFA/BFA students in the Washington/Baltimore area, curated by Jamie Smith which showcases a variety of media, the two of our favorites being the mobile grass globe SPHERE sculpture by Dan Gioa and Woojin Chang's intricate -SCAPE, a massive print that invites hours of discovery.
In the upstairs space, DC's finest functional design gallery INDUSTRY is playing host to UNTITLED, which showcases MFA/BFA works with more of an industrial design bend.
