Disclaimer: This is not a style-guide. This is not about fashion. This is not even judgmental. This column is about people on DC’s streets. It’s about people who seem as if they put a thought or two into their outfits before leaving the house. It’s about people whose look is working for them, in their opinion
Our adventures have led us to believe that there are cool kids everywhere in DC. As I explore DC and its surrounding neighborhoods, we have spotted some pretty unique looking outfits. With Chinatown always being a buzzing area for a variety of people of all ages and style some of them I can't help stop of some the ones that caught my eye.
Let's play a game.
I spy...
A male photographer busy capturing all of the excitement near the Chinatown Arch.
Mike, 28, Washington City Paper Photographer and writer for Science Magazine
BYT: So what brought you to Chinatown today Mike?
Mike: I take pictures here everyday for my job, I can usually be found 'being creepy around this corner.'
BYT: Well that seems like an interesting job. So what do you look for when shopping for clothes?
Mike: I like form fitting clothes, I have short arms so that can be an issue, and stripes are always good.
BYT: Okay, so what are some of your favorite places to shop at?
Mike: I do a lot of shopping online, but I also shop at J Crew and Urban Outfitters.
Levis denim, Domke Camera Bag & J Crew button down
Toms Shoes a purchase from Urban Outfitters
BYT: Last question, any current trends you really don't like?
Mike: I hate when males wear V necks that are too deep and expose too much chest hair. I also am sick of the beard trend, it seems like a lot of guys have thick beards right now. Also I don't really like the aviator glasses look.

Can this feature turn into a singles dating service?
the most interestingly dressed person on the street is wearing levi's, jcrew, and toms. DC!
Hey Shannon, thanks for the feature. I'm flattered that you chose to interview me, and wish I could have had some more insightful answers to your questions.
Just a small correction: Unfortunately I'm not a writer for SCIENCE, I'm just a lowly Publications Assistant. Sorry for not making that clear. Thanks again -
Best
Mike
guessin kat is barking (lolz) up the wrong tree with this one
I'd like to see an Old Navy revival in DC. Just imagine, Georgetown elite wearing jeans starting at $9.99 and up. Wow what a discount, what a difference.
