Brightest Young Things

Disclaimer: This is not a style-guide. This is not about fashion. This is not even judgmental. This column is about people on DC’s streets. It’s about people who seem as if they put a thought or two into their outfits before leaving the house. It’s about people whose look is working for them, in their opinion

With College just starting, a new group of young people have entered or returned back to the DC area. Campus life at all universities is always buzzing and full of fashionable students. I decided to explore some of the campus's in the area to see what is in style for the Fall 2010 semester. My adventures have brought me to my own college, Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia (Ballston) as my first stop on my outfit a day campus crawl!

Meet Kerry!

Kerry, 18, English Major

BYT: So Kerry, where are you originally from and what made you chose to go to Marymount University?

Kerry: I am from Richmond, Virginia and I chose to go to Marymount University because of its proximity to Washington DC.

BYT: Awesome, so what are some of your favorite fall trends and what is one of your fall fashion must haves?

Kerry: I would have to say my favorite fall trends would be boots and tights, and I love cardigans. The one piece of clothing I love most for fall is this pair of black skinny denim I have.

Dress; $25- H&M

Scarf; $15- Old Navy

BYT: Well you can't go wrong with a cardigan! So what would your dream job be and how would you dress for it?

Kerry: My dream job would be to be a playwright and they don't really get dressed up so I guess again I would be wearing boots tights and a cardigan.

Flats- $20- Target

BYT: That would be a great job with what you are majoring in! So, how would you consider the style at Marymount University as a whole?

Kerry: I would consider the style here to be pretty fashionable since we do have that big fashion program going on here at Marymount.
