On a scale from 1 to 10, Carsie Blanton's adorableness volume goes to (at least) 11. The VA born, Philadelphia based artists stole everyone's heart with her knowing and nudging pop nuggets when she stopped by Family Hemerlein earlier this summer. So much so, in fact, that we have her coming back for a special performance at this Saturday's BURST party. Here is her music, in her own words:

1) Itches and Tugs: First of all, I love this drummer. This is a song of lust and longing, but through a lens of grotesqueness. I wrote it in the muggiest dank of summer, and to me it stands at the intersection of sex and death, kind of like New Orleans, Helena Bonham Carter, and zucchini.
2) O, Gabriela: This was one of those famed "fifteen minute songs" - I wrote it real fast, and didn't know who it was about. Still don't. It contains one of my favorite lines I've written, though: "the grace of a woman who's happy alone". This is also some of my favorite production on the record.
3) Buoy: I have always thought of objects as having personalities, and it was thrilling to me when I realized I could use that odd tic in lyrics. I could finally point out the panic of boiling pots, the hopefulness of ballot boxes, and the loneliness of stranded shoes.
