Now, as you know, our love of everything Miranda July does is undying (note how we reviewed The Future not once but twice) and it's good to see she's keeping that warm glow alive for us. Her latest project, just in time for the holidays. The 6th Floor tells us that July, artist, filmmaker, wife of Mike Mills and the woman who ends up with too many sunflowers after a dinner party has opened a new store. At Partner’s & Spade in SoHo--based on her new book It Chooses You (which is what the book is called too)--it contains items that July bought off Craigslist, repackaged to include interviews with the owners, sprinkled by pixie dust, and is offering for sale at the same price. Sort of like a twee-er version of that store Catherine Keener owns in "40 Year Old Virgin". Sure it's precious, but it is the most affordable, original art gift you could have given someone this season. Everything is sold out by now, but we think she should keep it going. For the holiday's sake. (Via)
