If you're like me, a night at Fort Reno either consists of too much of a good time or not enough. I've been to these summer concerts enough times, and I've got it down...so here's the sure fire way to have an enjoyable night, every time, no matter what. It is what you make it, isn't it?

I.
Bring a neighbor. (Seriously! This is a great way to make friends.)

II.
Dress Accordingly.

III.
It may seem a little yup, but stop at Whole Foods on your way to the park to fill up your picnic basket with vegetables, liquids, vegan snacks for the dog, healthy candy et cetera for the kids. I recommend making your own hummus beforehand, and buying fresh vegetables + 99 cent lemonade.

IV.
Snag the best spot.

V.
Great. People. Watching.

VI.
Meet friends. Make friends.

This awesome guy will fix your bike. (YES!)

VII.
Watch the sunset. Reno is the best place in the city to do this. Promise.

Bonus points if you run into a BYT intern.
Extra bonus points! if you spot Ian Mackaye. And chill next to his picnic blanket. Just sayin'.

God loves a cheerful giver.

my favorite feature was the high school kids getting fucked up behind the stage.
Those BYT interns were so cute and sweet last night! Thanks for the love, ladies!
i think this article is missing one key suggestion: bring an umbrella.
This feature fundamentally lacks an appreciation of the Fort Reno spirit, if you will. It puts the spotlight on the most superficial moments: Extra bonus points! if you spot Ian Mackaye. The feature completely ignores the most important aspects of the event's continuance: the things that allow Fort Reno to occur year after year are the hard work of Amanda MacKaye and the volunteers and the Fort Reno cardinal rules. And I quote, "Please be aware that glass bottles, balloons, alcohol, [sic] & drugs are prohibited at all times," (FortReno.com). In fact the author encourages people to violate them suggesting, "...stop at Whole Foods... I recommend... 99 cent lemonade," which is in fact sold in a glass bottle which I reiterate is "forbidden at all times." But I am a hardline Fort Reno zealot: it is the only thing in this world I follow with blind faith. That said, this is babytown-frolics.
P.S. - Learn to write, this is not a text message between you and your middle school gal pals.
158328 @Sale-amander: Questioning the authenticity of someone's Fort Reno experience also seems to violate the spirit of the thing, no? But at least you managed to point out that Whole Foods lemonade was a bad example. You must be very proud of yourself.
There is a photo of someone smoking - what about the children?
158328 @Sale-amander: "middle school gal pals"?? really?
