Brightest Young Things

Gay Best Weekend Bets! Sorry this week is a little rushed, we're all on our way to get BEAUJOLAID (which will be last night by the time you read this, which means you're sorta kinda traveling digitally through time. MINDBLOW)!!!! Here is your weekend featuring: ART! LESBIANS! BIKES! THE NINETEEN NINETIES!

Thursday

Let's talk about gay icons for a min, k? Who braises LIKE A BOSS, bakes pies LIKE A BOSS, and makes everything glitter LIKE A BOSS? She's in her 70's and will own you. Martha Stewart will be at DAR.

The DC Center is bringing you a night of spoken word performances and poetry at Busboys and Poets. The theme of the event is quitting smoking (BYGays reminds you that kissing a smoker is like licking an ashtray…) and its FREE.

Performance art, religion, food: better than those unsweetened Christ cookies they give you at church.

Friday

Join a bunch of DYKES ON BIKES for the inaugural Where The Girls Go Dyke Ride from 6-7pm! Starting at Dupont Circle these lovely ladies will ride to the 2nd Lez Straight Bar Invasion at Acre 121. Once at the bar, the lezzies are taking over straight land and making it a little/very very queer.

Head over to Black Cat tonight for Gay//Bash for all kinds of music and all kinds of gays and all kinds of dancing!!

Saturday

New gay DC art collective Boys Be Good will be presenting Solipsissy, the latest edition of their queer zine, along with performance art. It's all about beauty, obsession, and vanity. GORGEOUS. 6:30pm at Morton Fine Art.

HOT GIRLS! BARE won The Washington Blade award for “Best Place to Meet Women” and so it only makes sense where you gals should be going tonight. Cobalt gives you dancing, drinks, and more dancing to the tunes of two amazing DJs.

You know you just pulled your flannel out for the season. Wrap it around your waste and channel early 90's grunge for Peach Pit.

AND! Los Campesinos! are at the Black Cat.

Sunday

Wake up and come on down to H Street Country Club for a bake sale, brunch, and mimosas. Mmmmm baked goods and mimosas!

Do you have a talent of some sort… singing, poetry, or anything you want to show off on stage? Why not try out Open Mic November at Phase 1. After some local gays show off their talents electro dance band, Glitterlust will play a full set! Plus it is free!

If you need more you can always hit up AllCity.
