Brightest Young Things

Swedish band Little Dragon's show at Liv is still one of the most talked about shows in the city. Before that amazing show, we got a change to chat with LD, as they give one of their few interviews in America.

SoCal based artist Havana has been simmering under the mainstream for a while now, however, her latest effort, titled Entervention might be the album that takes her to the top. Download the album sampler and see for yourself.

London Hearts DC. UK Magazine SoulCulture dedicates its latest issue to the Capitol City with its Chocholate City Soul Isssue. Interviews include Wale, Jeffery Wright, Green Tea, Oddissee, Bilaal Salaam and more. Contributors include yours truly, Lady Glock, and a forward by DJ Stylus. Check it.

You might have heard Brooklyn's Jahdan Blakkamoore from Major Lazer's latest album. If you like what you heard, you should check out his upcoming album, Buzzrock Warrior, which drops on September 14th. Jahdan and his Dutty Artz crew, combines dancehall, UK 2-Step, dubstep, cambia, and everything in between, and their “tropical dubstep” has a more international sound than anything coming out of America today.

The go-go track “Pretty Girls” has been a staple of Wale’s live shows for a hot minute now, and I’m glad to hear the actual studio track is going to be released as his next single off his debut album Attention:Deficit. The track, produced by DC’s own Best Kept Secret, will be the first go-go song to hit mainstream radio in years.

Cali's Zion-I just dropped the perfect summer song and video. Coastin' featuring newcomer K. Flay. Check it:
