It's really important to make a good impression on the first day of school- that's when everyone sees who got boobs, acne or abs over the summer. That's when they reformulate the Top Ten Hottest Lists (chyeahhhh)! You have to bring it those weeks leading up to Homecoming! Here's a guide to all the fly gear you need to make this school year the sickest yet!
GEAR
Choosing the right backpack is crucial- you carry it with you throughout the entire day- everyone see it. It's basically an extension of your self. Kipling, Monogrammed LL Bean and patched out packs are preferred. And remember one shoulder only please!
Don't be afraid to get creative and add key chains and cool marijuana patches!

As for school supplies, you don't want to look poor- so make sure you splurge on the Five Star line of notebooks and binders from Mead. (Do you kids even write anything down these days?!)

GIRLS FASHION
Let's start with the shoes- the key is height. Invest in some serious platforms. Steve Madden chunky boots look great with flared jeans, while Candie's colored heels work best with flouncy skirts and capri pants, Rocket Dog platform sandals also do the trick when you want something summery yet comfortable!

When it comes to pants- all the celebs are rocking low rise hip huggers jeans. Pair them with your school jersey to show some sexy school spirit at football games.

If you want something a little more out there, try a pair of shiny pleather pants- guaranteed to make all the Senior boys turn their head in the halls.

Stock up on Bebe's rhinestone logo wifebeaters. They're casual, chic and affordable!

Juicy Couture hoodies are soooo last season. The only thing you should be wearing over your shoulders this fall are waist and bust accentuating shrugs!
As for hair- as if I could forget! Mini Jaw clips and temporary hair mascara will set you apart from those homely girls still accessorizing with scrunchies.
GUYS FASHION
Fashion is a tough one for most of you guys- mom has been laying out khaki Bugle Boy shorts and boring pocket tees for your entire life. Back to school is the perfect opportunity to get Back 2 Cool.
You probably don't think that shoes could be that important- but take it from me, they are. Airwalks are comfortable and stylish while Nike makes a great hiking boot.

One of the hottest looks for both boys and girls this fall is denim overalls worn with one shoulder for guys, and two for girls. For those of you who want to play it safe, the loose fitting Jnco jeans are your best bet (and gentlemen- don't forget your chain wallet!)

Shirts- keep it casual with a Cherokee Brand collarless button down paired over a hooded sweatshirt or step up your game with a vintage looking bowling shirt worn open of course!

Jackets are a great way to keep warm and hide embarrassing erections, protect your rep with a Starter jacket featuring your local professional sporting team or opt for a leather varsity style Looney Tunes number.

As far as hair goes, you have two options: the butt cut (for those of you who don't mind longer hair) and super hot frosted tips. Show your best girlfriends these pictures of Zachary Ty Bryant from Home Improvement and Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray and see which one they think would look best on you!

Follow these fashion tips and you're sure to be ruling your school by lunch!
Have a good one!
God loves a cheerful giver.

I cannot like this more than I already do. It's actually impossible.
this is one of the dumbest articles i have ever read (well, at least today). i understand this is an attempt to be humorous but really just comes off as immature ramblings and observation but what appears to be someone from a spoiled upbringing.
please correct me if i am wrong.
I would still kill for a pair of Airwalk Ones. Just saying.
@hater if you didn't grow up watching the "friends" cut take over, then yeah, this is pretty much lost on you
160937 @hater: I'll correct you, you're fucking wrong. This is the best thing ever and if you don't get it you can fall on the metro tracks and burn your face off in my opinion.
160937 @hater:
Kevin Arnold AND JTT?! <3
160941 @ROPED: Oh Roped, you are so beautiful to me. Also ipod playlist go boom? Boo.
I like this A LOT. My only additions are:
Navy blue adidas swish pants for when you're feelin cool and sporty
and
White girls coming back from Caribbean vacations with cornrows
actually, 90s nostalgia helps me get through my workday. so thanks.
What, no Trapper Keepers?
Also, it's bummer we can't nab this crucial Czech 90210 fan art before Saturday.

don't forget to wear your sweatshirt around around your waist and to scrunch your socks down.
and what about modifying/making your own jeans? grunge-y, patchy jeans are the way to go for anyone who doesn't want to appear mainstream.
My style - Lee Pipes with a Union Bay zipper polo - is lightyears ahead of this.
No. i get it.
it just isn't funny. i dont understand why referencing bad cliches from the 90s is amusing when the whole article is a copy/paste project.
honestly, this strikes me as the type of article someone that would order "vintage" clothes from the internet would write.
once again, please prove my spoiled rich kid comment wrong. this reeks of suburbia.
actualyl every media reference here refers to suburban pop from the 90s. from the airwalks to the llbean backpack.
Best part about this? You managed to get Fred Savage AND Ben Savage in the same post - and, I don't think you did it on purpose...
@HATER: You really suck dude. major bummer.
what about those plastic "tattoo" choker necklaces that made me look like a teenage prostitute?
Hate to say it, but "hater" is right on this one. Referencing the dude from Sugar Ray for fashion tips? Overalls and bright colors?
This season neutral colors are in. Throw away your items with graphics and bright colors because the faux-90's movement is as dead as the faux-80's movement was in 2008. Think 1960's Paris for both boys and girls.
Nikes are out for boys, try and keep a low profile with some basic colored slip-ons that correctly color match your outfit. Girls, shoes that keep a low profile are always best. Keep away from dirty, beat up shoes. Even if your color palate is brown. Even if you're trying to go for the "grungy" look. Just don't do it.
For both sexes, a wildcard is plaid. If you can pull it off, a plaid fitted button down on guys and girls is an easy and acceptable top choice. Just don't overdo it. Plaid was last year, solids are this year. Navy or nautical blue and white stripes are the trend this fall, and for good reason. If you can pull them off, stripes can make an outfit.
Bags are incredibly important. Men, a small murse that can hold a few books and some school supplies is essential to your survival. Would you rather someone think you're a well dressed man who's possibly gay or like you're a hobo with everything you own bulging out of your pants? Think single color messenger bags under 17 inches. Ladies, hobo bags are in- use them.
Also, nothing flared. Clothes that fit are in. If your pants hang, it's acceptable to roll them up slightly. It's better than having them drag.
