It was a beautiful Saturday (early) evening, the birds were singing, the skies we blue, we had several fake noses attached to glasses in our back pockets, and Project 4 Gallery (903 U street, fyi) was holding its opening for Christine Gray’s beautifully unsettling paintings, which was curated with the help of Kristan Capps.
We highly recommend both the show (which places man mad objects rendered almost photo realistic, into dreamy natural landscapes which are, in turn treated, very abstractly. Burst of Will Cottonesque colors and playful use of 3D painting, make it a crowd pleaser both for those who enjoy art cerebrally and viscerally) as well as the space, designed by Greg of Inscape Studios, who is one of the co-owners.
Show is open till May 24th.
