On my way to Long View Gallery, walking past the 6pm dust of the Convention Center, I was expecting to photograph anything but the glam of Anna Davis' pieces and the her admirers, associates, + friends.

I was pleasantly overwhelmed with the style I encountered...I met several who were more than pleased to have their photo taken.
Oh-and the shoes! Wow.

The artwork was astounding. I'll admit, this was one of the best art openings I've attended.
There's a certain formula to a successful opening. The art is half of it.

The art had the power of stopping people as they walked by-on their way to the wine table, to the smoking patio across the alley, to a friend across the expansive warehouse.<</p>

A mixture of ink drawings and mixed media (collage, acrylic, mosaic) pieces, the exhibit drew me in. Fully.

At first glance, any piece was simply great work. But there was so much to examine and discover. I revisited frames throughout my two-hour visit.

"Mama's Boys" (above) may have been one of my favorites (favs are difficult to choose).
The collages were emotional to look at.

The artist, Anna Davis, was dressed to impress. Her outfit-my favorite (and that was easy to pick out).

The caterers-impressive. I stuck with sparkling water, and that was top of the line.

I eventually had to leave, more than satisfied.

God loves a cheerful giver.

I have a crush on a photog.
And to date, Longview's events have all been top-notch.
Bailey, you are correct they have been "events" not gallery openings. Longview artists are being undeserved by the party mindset.
