Who loves gigposters? The answer, of course, is everyone! The world has been treated to the joys that are Flatstock, courtesy of the American Poster Institute, in conjunction with SXSW, Bumbershoot, Pitchfork Festival, Vegoose, and even a jaunt to Germany. Never before has the East Coast proper had the pleasure though. This isn’t an official Flatstock but it is as close as we will get in the immediate future (stay tuned on that accord.) Curator John Shipman has assembled an impressive array of talented designers and has even arranged a gigantic opening day for the exhibit.
That’s right – your very own chance to empty your wallets as you bring joy to your walls. Come out and see some incredible work and talk to the designers behind the ink and paper. DC will represent courtesy of El Jefe (Jeff Everett), Dirty Pictures (Anthony Dihle) and yours truly John Foster. Others will be in from around the country and you even have a chance to meet Jesse LeDoux (designer of the first two Shins discs among other jawdroppers) and be tickled by his swanky 70’s ‘stache! I have included a few images to whet the appetite but head on over to gigposters.com for a further examination and then come and see them in person (a must with these hand-pulled beauties.) Here are the details:
