Billy Colbert hung his collection of football helmet inspired sculptures at Long View Gallery on Friday night. “Love is a Losing Game” hangs until April 24th and features on assortment of delightful creations to make you smile. I mean, what about about a pink football helmet sprouting bunny ears isn’t appealing? How about a helmet with a neon display that reads “Me”? Colbert’s work characterizes an unapologetic brand of pop-culture sass that just might speak to the “me” generation. I for one, want to take pictures of someone wearing that bunny rabbit helmet.
