On Tuesday night, the bustle of Penn Quarter quiets as Andrew Wodzianski pulls up in an unmarked van with funeral flag flying. He dons a slim-cut black suit, silver tie clip and hat. Stares ensue. Then, twelve paintings emerge from the back of the van as he unloads them into the darkness.
In Wodzianski’s new exhibit House, he creates a world where his guests are transported to the setting of William Castle’s 1959 b-flick cult sensation House on Haunted Hill. Starting Thursday and continuing until October 30, Wodzianski will release five clues via Twitter for his scavenger hunt, House Hunt DC (twitter.com/househuntdc). Five winners get free admission to Flashpoint’s House Party, a costume party at the Gallery with DJ’s Sharkey and Smudge, and a free painting from the exhibition. Get tickets and more info at flashpointdc.org.
House, opens at Flashpoint Gallery on TONIGHT, October 8, from 6-8pm.
