Writing about the weekend seems almost like a joke since this week everything anyone has ever planned on doing has been canceled. Having said that, it is Thursday morning and I am looking out of the window and the sky is blue and clear and the cars are driving merrily down 16th street. So-fingers crossed.
Before we move onto the weekend goings-on, as per usual some notes:

- Once again-congratulations to Matt Sesoow & Dana Ellyn on their nuptials and terrific show opening at Long View
- Georgia O'Keefe's Abstraction is open at Phillips Collection (providing Phillips Collection is open). Here is the full preview for it, it is definitely worth admiring.
- Hirshhorn today opens a celebration of 50 years of Josef Albers' abstract paintings in Innovation and Inspiration, however the lecture scheduled to accompany it has been cancelled.

- Also, tickets for the Smithsonian American Art Museum's annual gala (which happens on the 27th) are on sale.
OK-ONTO EVENTS NOW (click on links for more details):

- At Evolve Urban Art projects stop by the opening of "Orchestrated Mayhem" because "what's more fun than taking your Valentine's date to an art opening featuring sex, death and forest mayhem?". ReadysetDC has a nice preview of the show you should check out.

- The Fridge is hosting the (rescheduled to this week) opening reception for “Empty Time” which celebrates the loveliness of banality. Local artist and man about town Trevor Young curates and “pairs painting and photography from artists across America who express the immediacy of memories of vanished time”
- Also rescheduled from last week is the show the young bucks over at ReadySetDC helped put together: Activation 2719, a group show (including DECOY, and Tim Conlon’s work) at (you guessed it) 2719 13th street. RSVP is required for the opening reception.
- And Civilian Arts Project hosts a talk by George Jenne & Ryan Hill and a closing reception for the "Don't Look Now" show
